About Us

The Pacific Alliance of YMCAs is a collective or cohort of all YMCA’s, incorporated in the states of Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington and chartered by the National Board of the National Council of YMCA of the USA.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support and serve member Ys to inspire, nurture and strengthen communities by advancing Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility through advocacy, programming and collaboration.

Our Vision

Our vision is a united and sustained Alliance of YMCAs working together and with stakeholders to strengthen communities by helping ALL people achieve health, gain confidence, and feel secure at every state of life.

Our Purpose

The Pacific Alliance of YMCAs: 

  • Facilitates strategic planning through a multi-layered process in associations in need of this service. This provides Ys with an operational roadmap while also meeting compliance requirements with YUSA for membership standards.  

  • Leads CEO searches for associations within the Alliance who are undergoing a change in executive leadership.  

  • Connects Ys with each other as well as other entities to pursue opportunities for shared services.  

  • Convenes peer communities throughout the region for idea sharing and staff development opportunities.  

  • Serves as a convener, connector and conduit for Ys and the Alliance to engage with key stakeholders throughout the region.  

  • Reports back to YUSA on projects and service delivery.  

  • Pursues funding opportunities for alliance members as well as the alliance itself.  

  • Protects and promotes the charitable status of Ys at local, state and federal levels.  

  • Works to strengthen, educate, train and inform Ys to expand their individual and collective impact.
